Solo Performer | Playwright | Storyteller | Producer
Thao P. Nguyen makes art about whatever pisses them off — racism, sexual violence, white power, hetero/cis-sexism, and people who don’t say “please” and “thank you.” They have been writing and performing solo shows since they joined the Solo Performance Workshop in 2007. Their first full-length one-person comedy, Fortunate Daughter, was named one of the Top 10 Bay Area Plays of 2013 by KQED Year in the Arts! Thao is currently performing in two full-length shows: a solo show called WHITE POWER: A Comedy and a two-person sketch comedy show entitled In the Crosshairs with Martha Rynberg & Thao P. Nguyen. They are also in the process of co-writing and co-producing a new two-person show called Rape Jokes, to be debuted in the Fall of 2017. Thao is also a doctoral student in Theater and Performance Students at Stanford University. thaosolo.com
